Vacation Benefit

What You Need to Know

Participating employers have established a vacation benefit for you according to the collective bargaining agreement for Laborers’ Local Union 271.

Note

This benefit only applies to Construction.

Highlights

  • Participating employers make contributions to fund this benefit on your behalf.
  • You’ll have an individual benefit balance based on the amount contributed for you.

How the Benefit Works

  • Each year, the amount credited to your vacation account will be paid out during the fourth calendar quarter. Any monies for previous work periods not previously distributed will also be distributed at this time.
  • Federal, state, and local taxes (if applicable) will be withheld from your benefit and reported at year-end on your W-2 form.
